ACGOW

I submitted three pieces to the 2022 Regional Art Show of the Artists Cooperative Gallery of Westerly (ACGOW).  Just a day or two later I saw on their website that all three of my pieces were accepted into the show!  Yay!

The following day I received a phone call asking if I would be at the opening reception for the show on Friday evening.  I said that I had a busy day and was not certain I could attend.  The person on the other end encouraged me to be there, "You will be very happy that you come."

OK, what does this mean?  I knew that there would be prizes announced at the reception, but, well . . . maybe .. . did I win a prize?  We decided to attend the reception and I let a few friends know that we would be going.

When I saw the amazing art displayed in the ACGOW galleries, I was certain that the phone call was just to get a good crowd, not for me in particular.  It seemed to take forever to get to the program where prizes were announced, but finally . . .  OMG!  My name was called and I received The Katherine Forest Crafts Foundation Alice Clark Hubbard Award !!  And a little blue ribbon!  And a check!

The three pieces I have in the show are:

Cartographies of Perpetual Rejuvenation (CPR)

The Rubble and the Road

Material Meditation

You have seen two of the three in recent posts.  Here is the third one, Material Meditation.  And a photo of me with the award winning Cartographies of Perpetual Rejuvenation!!  The show is on for the rest of the month of May.
